These maintenance-free sections of the STM series are designed for areas exposed to extreme stress. Its main objectives are to prevent crack formation in the flooring and to protect paving edges exposed to regular usage. They also function as an effective block of sound transmission and vibrations transmitted through the floor.

Metal bands made out of aluminium, stainless steel or brass are joined by hot vulcanization process with an elastic filling made out of EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Rubber). This joint is considered to be the firmest joint achievable. Thanks to this technology the metal bands are connected with the elastic filling homogeneously. This homogeneous connection protects the section from dust and dirt settling and it is also water-proof. The bearing surface of the section’s metal arms are perforated for optimum anchoring.
